Beam
Industries, headquartered in Webster
City, is the world's leading manufacturer and marketer of central
vacuum systems, shipping products to more than 45 countries
throughout the world. The company, which got its start in a
6,000 sq. ft. building, has grown in size and scope to become
the largest, most complete central vacuum manufacturer in the
world. The company employs 150 people. Beam attributes its success
to the work ethic and dedication of its Webster City employees. |

Electrolux
is the world's largest producer of appliances for the kitchen,
cleaning and outdoor use, such as refrigerators, ranges laundry
equipment, chainsaws and garden tractors. Each year, the company
sells over 55 million appliances in more than 150 countries
and more than 300,000,000 households. Electrolux's Home Products
facility in Webster City designs and manufactures laundry equipment
under the Frigidaire, White-Westinghouse, and Kenmore brands.
The plant produces over 2.3 million laundry units a year. Electolux
employs 2,100 in Webster City. |

McMurray
Hatchery is a "one-stop
poultry business." The company was started in 1917 by Murray
McMurray. He was a banker and sold baby chicks through the bank
to area farmers and hobbyists. In 1919 he sent out his first
catalog and price list. During the depression his bank went
broke and he decided to go into the hatchery and mail order
baby chick business full-time. Today, 99 percent of McMurray's
business is done through catalog, which serves the small farm
flock and the hobbyist. Baby chicks still remain the main staple
of the business; however, the company also sells ducklings,
goslings, guinea keats, turkey poults, peafowl and game birds.
The company also sells poultry books, medicine, incubators,
hatching eggs, equipment and other poultry related products.
In 1991 a new 26,000 sq. ft. hatchery building was built. The
entire operation is now state-of the-art. |

Seneca
Foundry was started approximately
40 years ago as a small supplier for agricultural OEMs and municipal
governments. Today, the company is a modern metal casting operation
with 35,000 sq ft. of manufacturing space. Seneca attributes
their success to their employee's commitment to teamwork and
efficiency in providing high quality products and service. Seneca
employs 75 people. |

Tasler, Inc.,
headquartered in Webster City, is celebrating over 30 years
in production. The company started in Webster City in a small
antiquated building with six employees and has grown to over
178 employees and a 600,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art manufacturing
and warehouse facility. Today, Tasler is a diversified packaging
solutions company with several product lines including the Pallet
Division, Expanded Polystyrene Division, Lumber Wholesale Division
and the Pallet Recycling and Repair Division. The customer base
has grown from a few local manufacturers to a national customer

a three-person meat locker to a campus of buildings consisting
of a 57,000 sq. ft. main plant, a 35,000 sq. ft. warehouse and
a 9,000 sq. ft. truck garage with 125 employees. Currently,
the company is adding an additional 5,000 sq. ft. to its main
plant facility. Webster City Custom Meats specializes in custom
meat processing of smoked ham, smoked bacon, smoked turkeys,
fresh sausage products, boneless ham roasts, smoked pork lions
and produces a line of specialty meat items. The company strives
