Webster City is continuing to create an attractive environment for personal growth. We are your smart connection to an unsurpassed quality of living that will attract and retain the workers you need to grow and expand your business.

Outstanding Schools and Learning Opportunities
The Webster City School District has approximately 1,720 students in grades K-12. High school graduation rates are high, drop-out rates are low and a high percentage of students pursue further education with many attending Iowa Central Community College.

Webster City also has the option of St. Thomas Catholic school for grades K-6. The school has over 125 students and shares extracurricular activities such as band with the public school system.

For students interested in pursuing advanced training and education and meeting eligibility requirements, Webster City High School has an articulation agreement with Iowa Central Community College. Students may attend classes locally at ICCC's Webster City campus or drive a short 20 minutes to the main campus in Fort Dodge while still in high school.

Life-long learning opportunities are easily accessible. Within 30 minutes of Webster City are:

Iowa Central Community College, Webster City and Fort Dodge
Buena Vista University, Fort Dodge
Iowa State University, Ames

Childcare Centers
Webster City has two child care centers and both have recently expanded to the meet the needs of our working parents. Through a community coalition, over $1.4 million was raised to renovate a vacated commercial property transforming it into a wonderful new home for Webster City Day Care. The new Center is able to accommodate 175 children. The Riverview Early Childhood Center was also recently renovated to more efficiently use the space available and increase capacity to accommodate 100 children.

Leading Edge Medical Care
Hamilton Hospital located in Webster City is a premier healthcare facility providing a full range of services in an inpatient and outpatient setting as well as 24 hour emergency care services.

Hamilton Hospital can provide area employers assistance in hiring and maintaining a healthy workforce by offering a comprehensive program of corporate health services. A Federal CLIA-certified laboratory and a Certified Occupational Health Nurse provide service. For more information on the hospital's corporate services, visit the hospital's website.

Excellent medical services are also available through the Webster City Medical Clinic, McFarland Clinic, and Trimark Physicians Group. Recreation and cultural opportunities are affordable and accessible. Webster City has many fine parks including Kendall Young Park, a beautiful scenic park along the Boone River; Bonebright Museum Complex, an historic park area that includes a Depot Museum, Harmony Schoolhouse, relic log cabins, and the historic Hamilton County Courthouse; and eleven other parks with biking/hiking trails, softball and baseball fields and open play spaces. In addition Brush Creek State Park and Briggs Woods State Park are nearby. We have an outdoor swimming pool for summertime fun and an indoor pool located in Fuller Hall Recreation Center.

A Place to Call Home

Webster City neighborhoods are clean, safe and friendly. Newcomers are welcomed to our community and encouraged to "get involved" in community activities and civic and service organizations.

Our community has a variety of existing and new homes for sale. In 2002, the average sale price of home was $81,968 and new housing developments are underway. There is three-year 100 percent tax abatement on in-fill lot residential construction with in Webster City. This program has been particularly effective at using sites that are already served by city infrastructure. The city also offers a down payment assistance program as well as an owner occupied rehabilitation program for residential units.

Webster City is an easy place to live and work. There is no traffic congestion nor long commutes. Our close proximity to Des Moines and the Twin Cities enables our businesses and residents to enjoy big city benefits while avoiding the hassles of big city living.
